Hardy Garden Mums. We have a HUGE variety of colors and forms of Hardy Garden Mums
including daisy, pom pom, and decorative shapes in more than a dozen colors. We raise one of the most comprehensive selections
of Hardy Garden Mums you will find! Our Hardy Garden Mums can be the DIVAS of your fall garden and landscape! Their blooms
last for weeks not days and there is a profusion of flowers to each plant! Hardy Garden Mums may be planted in the
ground or in containers. Their mounding habitat and the variety of beautiful colors will complement your fall decorating
scheme. Annual or Perennial? Mums
aren't as expensive as many perennials and they provide plenty of long lasting fall color bang for the buck; you can use them
as annuals without worrying that you've spent too much money on something that might not live more than one season. If
you decide to plant them in the fall pick a sunny location and keep them well watered until the ground is frozen;
you may mulch them to protect them and in the spring carefully uncover the mum and start watering. Be patient; mums may not
start to peak out of the ground until June (depending on the location they are planted in and the warmth of the spring);
following these directions increases your opportunity to be rewarded with an even more impressive plant next fall! They
are easy to care for and we've had many plants that have regenerated in the spring despite having wintered
above ground in their pot next to our silo; no mulch or special care - I guess that's why they call them "Hardy"

Asters. Asters are an easy to grow perennial that grows well in average soils,
but needs full sun. Asters come in some great colors including striking blues, purples and a variety of pinks. All Asters
are yellow in the center of the flower. They are daisy-like in appearance, even though they are a member of the sunflower
family. Follow directions for planting the Hardy Garden Mum. Be sure to select a sunny spot for your Hardy Garden Mum
or Aster; both plants love the sun so select a spot that receives sunlight at least 50% of the day. Ornamental Kale. Ornamental cabbage and kale are in the same species,
Brassica oleracea, as edible cabbages and kale. They are the result of hybridizing and, although they are still edible,
they aren’t as tasty and tender as their cousins. Kale, while a member of the cabbage family, is fundamentally
a cabbage that does not produce a head; instead, it produces leaves in a tight rosette. Although sometimes referred to
as flowering cabbages, it’s the leaves that give the plants their color and interest as ornamentals. Ornamental
Kale is remarkably hardy and if temperatures stay above 15-20 degrees they will continue to overwinter and provide brilliant
color that stands up to the cold; once winter starts to consistently reach lower temperatures the leaves will wilt. As noted
in the beloved holiday movie, Meet Me in St. Louis "Cabbage has a cabbage smell"...be sure to remove the
dead plants before temperatures start to soar in the spring or you may be unpleasantly reminded of their presence in your
garden...but ornamental kale is worth it! Their amazing cold hardiness and brilliant color when the rest of your plants have
shed their flowers and leaves is beautiful to behold. If purchased and planted in the ground in md to late summer they will
get quite impressive in size and brilliance (remember that next summer when we put them out for sale on our wagon!).
