Halloween Safety Tips:
Teach
children to stay on one side of the street and to stay on the sidewalks. Don't run back and forth across the street.
Drivers should be extremely cautious and alert when driving in residential and other areas where children
may be engaging in Halloween activities.
Some families are foregoing Trick or
Treating for block and neighborhood parties or parties sanctioned by local businesses and organizations.
If
you are going out Trick or Treating, keep these safety tips in mind:
Costumes should be flame-resistant, made
of light or bright-colored material and short enough to not trip children.
Only go to homes of people you know.
Only go to homes of people who have porch lights on.
Carry a flashlight or glow stick at all times.
Have an adult check the candy before it is eaten.
Never accept candy that has already been opened.
Walk and never run across yards. Use sidewalks whenever possible.
Trick-or-treat in groups of four to five with
at least one adult.
To be able to see better, use face makeup instead of a full face mask.
