End of 2009 Season Thank You! 2009 was our best season ever and we wish to extend a big thank you to all of our customers who trusted
us to provide them with a great Halloween and Fall activity. Mother nature threw us some curve balls what with snow one weekend
and torrential rain, wind, and cold weather comprising the last few days of our 2009 season, overall, it was still GREAT! In 2009 we added some new activities including a hay ride, face painting, and sand art...and we certainly
did a lot of cosmetic improvements to Spirit Hill Farm including a lot of painting (thanks Darlene and Aslynn) and expanding
the golf course. We also changed things up a little with a new entrance to Pumpkinland and bracelets! There are always glitches, hopefully,
they were few and we smoothed them out quickly. Our new kitchen
including Apple Cider Donuts made fresh at the farm every day was a big hit. We were happy to be able to bring an expanded
menu and good food to our customers! The donuts were certainly a hit!
We'd like to thank our hard working crew too including: Darlene (and Bill who came to our
rescue more than once), Mom (aka Grandma Grahm Cracker), Brandon, Chad, Brett, Matt, John (and Mary), Teryn, Jordan,
Kaylen, not to mention last minute come to our rescue helpers (Misty, Patience and Kristy)! And of course, Aslynn and Ashley.
We couldn't do it with out you. We're already working on next
year's season...thinking of new ways to continue to provide affordable fun for the whole family, while providing unique entertainment.
We'd love your feedback on your experience, what did we do right, and what could we do better.
September 2009 Big things are happening at Spirit Hill Farm Pumpkinland.
We're very busy getting ready for the 2009 pumpkin season and looking forward to opening weekend (Saturday September 26th
at 10 a.m.). The pumpkins are starting to turn and we'll have a bumper crop including jack o'lantern, pie, Cinderella, white,
and more plus gourds, corn stalks, kale (flowering cabbage), mums and asters. NEW this year will be freshly made Apple Cider Donuts, and Funnel Fries, all offered in our brand new mobile
kitchen! We'll also have gourmet caramel apples, pies, pizza, hamburgers, and more! We'll also be carrying apples this
year including the very popular Honeycrisp! We've been busy
all spring and summer giving the whole farm a face lift and adding attractions to make your visit to Spirit Hill Farm Pumpkinland
even more enjoyable. We remain committed to being an economical family activity and will continue to offer entrance to the
activity area with a qualifying pumpkin purchase per child. This qualifying pumpkin purchase can be applied to your entire
pumpkin purchase so it's really like the activity area is free! The activity area includes the kid's rides, haunted mini golf,
kid's maze, haunted barn and the activity area. We won't nickel, dime, and dollar you with charges for every activity.
As in the past, there will be some reasonably priced add-on activiites including our popular duck game, face painting,
and sand art. The haunted golf course is undergoing improvements
and you'll see a all new haunted barn. We've also made many enhancements to the gift barn! We look forward to seeing you this Fall at Spirit Hill Farm Pumpkinland. There's something for everyone at Spirit
Hill Farm Pumpkinland! Dennis and Carol Johnson and family!

September 28, 2009
Week One Wrap Up: We had a successful first weekend at Spirit Hill Farm Pumpkinland. Thanks to all our visitors for
choosing us for their weekend family activity. Our brand new kitchen was given a workout. We served up fresh Apple Cider
Donuts by the dozen and half-dozen, burgers, hot dogs, and pizza. The Gourmet Caramel Apples and Treatcicles (rice krispy
bar, chocolate and toppings on a stick) were a hit. Many children enjoyed the Children's Activity Area...included FREE
with a minimum qualifying pumpkin purchase per child. (see How it Works page for more information). The kid's rides, maze,
haunted barn and mini golf course were enjoyed by children and adults alike. To enter the activity area, children must wear
a bracelet. The FREE Candy Sling will be operating the weekend of October 3 and 4. This year we have a few "add-on"
activities including a return of the "Pick a Duck" game and "Face Painting" (both very popular last year.
We use hypoallergenic, FDA approved face paints (a brand professionals use). It is very safe and washes off easily with soap
and water. A new "add-on" activity this year is Sand Art and a Hay Ride. The Hay Ride will be running at times (check
the website for posted times) and we hope to add Pumpkin Slinging (due to our summer without a summer weather, the soybeans
which are usually out of the field at this time are not quite ready). We'll post to the web site when Pumpkin Slinging becomes
available. If you haven't been out to the farm...please come and visit us and sign our guest book. Hope to see
you soon! Happy Halloween!
